V1.1 - Last edited 18th March 2020

Welcome to West Coast Deck. By using our website and services, you agree to the following Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or services.

1. Services Provided

West Coast Deck offers deck construction, repair, railing installation, waterproofing, and related services. All services provided are subject to these Terms, as well as any agreements entered into during the service contract process.

2. Estimates and Quotes

Any quotes or estimates provided by West Coast Deck are valid for 30 days unless otherwise specified. These estimates are based on the information provided by the customer at the time of the request. Any changes to the project scope after the estimate may result in revised pricing.

3. Payments and Deposits

  • Deposit: A deposit may be required prior to starting a project, typically a percentage of the total project cost. The deposit amount and schedule will be outlined in your service agreement.
  • Payment Terms: Final payment is due upon completion of the project. Payment methods include credit card, check, or bank transfer. Full payment details will be specified in your contract.
  • Late Payments: Late payments may incur additional fees, and failure to pay may result in suspension or cancellation of services.

4. Cancellations and Refunds

  • Customer Cancellations: You may cancel your project before the start date without penalty. Cancellations made after work has begun may be subject to a fee for services already rendered and materials purchased.
  • Refunds: Refunds for deposits or payments are subject to the specific terms outlined in your project contract.
  • West Coast Deck Cancellations: We reserve the right to cancel a project due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to weather delays, supply shortages, or safety concerns. In such cases, we will work with you to reschedule or offer a refund for services not rendered.

5. Project Timeline and Delays

We strive to complete all projects within the agreed-upon timeframe. However, unforeseen delays may occur due to weather conditions, supply chain issues, or other external factors beyond our control. We will communicate any delays promptly and work with you to adjust the project timeline as necessary.

6. Warranties and Guarantees

West Coast Deck offers a lifetime workmanship warranty on all deck construction, railing installation, and repair services. This warranty covers defects in craftsmanship but does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear, weather, improper maintenance, or alterations made by the client after the project is completed. Any materials used in the project may come with their own manufacturer warranties, which will be passed on to the customer.

7. Property Access and Permits

  • Access: You agree to provide West Coast Deck and its contractors access to your property to complete the agreed-upon work. This includes reasonable access to outdoor areas, power outlets, and water sources as necessary.
  • Permits: West Coast Deck will inform you if any building permits are required for your project. In most cases, the customer is responsible for obtaining necessary permits unless otherwise agreed upon.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, West Coast Deck will not be held liable for any damages or losses, including but not limited to incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of our services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our liability is limited to the amount paid by you for the services provided.

9. Customer Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information regarding your project, including property dimensions, existing structures, and any relevant local codes or restrictions.
  • Maintaining communication throughout the project and promptly responding to any inquiries or requests for information.
  • Ensuring your property is clear of obstacles, debris, or other items that may interfere with our work.
